Her heart made a wish. Will her dream become reality or will the nightmare destroy them all?
“Thanks for letting me stay for dinner with your friends. The food was amazing.” She watched his face soften.
“Thank you for staying,” he replied. He tucked her hair behind her ear and caressed her cheek.
Her insides tingled, relishing his soft touch on her skin. “Are you making a pass at me Mr. Harrington?” she asked, quietly.
He grinned and continued to caress her cheek. “This is a prelude to a pass. You’ll know when it’s happening.” He stood and offered her his hand. She took it and followed him to the giant hammock where he let his body free-fall onto the colorful cushions.
“Join me?” He looked boyishly cute as he made room for her.
She lay down beside him and rested her head on his arm that was around her. They lay in silence, both watching the ceiling fan turning lazily above them. He played with her hair between two fingers.
She turned to him and they were nose to nose. “This whole day was…unexpected.”
He nodded in agreement, gazing into her eyes. “Yes, it was. One of the best days I’ve had in a long time.”
She blushed, feeling her heart accelerate. He leaned up on one arm as the hammock swayed gently back and forth. He caressed her cheek again and lightly touched her lips with his fingertips. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply.
“Please make a pass at me,” she begged quietly.
She opened her eyes back up to see him grinning at her with his gorgeous eyes. He nodded, and then he leaned down and kissed her.
