This song is actually
about a woman who has died and is watching her husband sleep. But I love the
imagery of how alone the man is and I think it fits Harrison incredibly well -
he's got a lot of Ghosts...
She sees him laying in the bed alone tonight
The only thing a touching him is a crack of light
Pieces of her hair are wrapped around and 'round his
fingers
And he reaches for her side, for any sign of her that
lingers

This song completely personifies Ryan, my
heroine. She's so tough, with so many regrets and falling in love requires her
to "bury that horse in the ground"

Death Cab For Cutie - I Will Follow You Into The Dark
I love this song so much. It's painfully romantic -
the lyrics just kill me. This is Harrison's song for Ryan when he follows her
to Philly, to claim her in front of her family. It's stark and real and
beautiful. Go listen!

That's right,
we're going way back for this one!! But
frankly, for the first half of the book Ryan and Harrison's relationship is a
battlefield. So it totally fits. And it gave me a chance to rewatch that
video...

Ryan in Indecent Proposal is
